Kathy Kudler established Kudler Fine Foods in 1998. Kathy had a dream one day to be a little bit different than other food shops. So she created a one-stop gourmet food shop that offers a wide selection of food and cooking tools for people who are tired of shopping at different stores. Kathy was able to open a total of three more stores due to business going very well. The first one was in La Jolla, California; the second one is Del Mar, California; and the third in Encinitas, California. The five different food categories are: bakery and pastries, produce, meat and seafood, condiments and packaged foods, cheeses and specialty dairy product. Why not shop for all your food needs in one stop and save time to actually have dinner ready in time instead of going to five different shops wasting time and money, gas is very expensive these days.
Kudler Fine Foods’ organization structure is divided into six major departments: finance and accounting, sales and marketing, human resources, operations, legal and information technology. Microsoft Access is what is used as the database platform to track inventory, orders, and customers until it reached its max. The critical thing about this is that Microsoft Access only has a limited amount of space up to two gigabytes of memory that can affect their growth level. The database needs to be updated continuously by several users at each store.
This could have a negative impact on the business because if the business is constantly growing and growing, due to the limited space provided by one particular software could hurt and crash business systems because it can not handle data over two gigs.
